Eric DAVALLE

After completing a diploma in civil engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 1982, Eric DAVALLE began his career at BG Bonnard & Gardel Holding SA (www.bg-21.com) in Lausanne. It was not long before he was motivated to continue his education. Fascinated by how new digital technology could be applied to structures, he decided to go to the University of California, Berkeley in the USA. In 1987 he was awarded a Master of Science. His research led him naturally to complete a Doctorate in Technical Sciences at EPFL in 1991. Later, between 2004 and 2005, he enhanced his technical training with a marketing module at the University of Lausanne with a view to applying this to services.

Since 1991 his career stands out for its extensive international experience as a consultant engineer. He has worked for Monod Ingénieurs Conseils in Epalinges and STUCKY SA in Renens-près-Lausanne, where he was managing director until 2005. In early 2006, he became an expert consultant at VEOLIA France. At the end of 2006 he took over management of the electricity department at Lausanne Industrial Services where he stayed until June 2015.

Since 2001, alongside his main activity, he has taught Structural Mechanics (Bachelor) and Water Management (Master) in the civil engineering department at EPFL.

Transferring skills and knowledge has always seemed natural and been important to him.
